High-Voltage Safety & Technician Training
High-voltage training focused on safe work practices, hazard recognition, controlled isolation, verification and the practical realities of servicing electrified transit vehicles.
High-voltage hazard awareness
Understand shock, arc-flash and stored-energy hazards, system labeling, orange-cable conventions, capacitors, energy storage and conditions that can leave hazardous voltage present.
PPE and safe work practices
Selection and inspection of appropriate PPE, insulated tools, barriers, approach boundaries, work-area control, meter suitability and task planning.
Isolation and verification
Vehicle-specific shutdown concepts, service disconnects, lockout/tagout, waiting periods, absence-of-voltage verification, live-dead-live meter checks, stored-energy discharge and return-to-service verification.
HVIL and interlocks
Understand high-voltage interlock loop concepts, contactor permissions, service disconnect monitoring and how interlock faults can prevent Ready state or high-voltage enable.
High-voltage safety training for transit maintenance
JBC high-voltage training is built for transit maintenance environments where technicians work around battery-electric and hybrid vehicles. The course connects electrical hazard awareness with the actual service tasks, interlocks, disconnects, test equipment and work controls technicians encounter on advanced-propulsion buses.
Safe work practices and electrical isolation
Training addresses hazard recognition, PPE concepts, site procedures, lockout/tagout, service disconnects, controlled work areas and verification before work. Technicians learn why a command, indicator or open contactor is not a substitute for the employer's approved procedure and proper verification.
HVIL and isolation concepts
Technicians learn how high-voltage interlock loops, insulation/isolation monitoring and vehicle control permissions can inhibit Ready state or charging. Diagnostic instruction emphasizes safe low-energy checks and a structured approach before any energized high-voltage work is considered.
